GAM111 — Game Journal 1 (Week 2)

During the first week of GAM111 we learnt about the tasks that needed to be done during the course of this assessment, one of those was to create a journal every week so that we can recount on what we have done over the week. Mainly my goals in the first week were to complete a general idea about what my game was going to be about. In the first week, I tried to have a basic movement for my character so it would be easy to implement a level design that I would come up with during week 2 and onwards. All of this was done whilst thinking up a concept for my game, to make it unique.

Weekly Achievements

During week 1, I did complete all of the goals that I set for the this week. This includes the movement for the character In my game with some of the mechanics of the character.

My game’s idea at first was about a boat racing through a course but that was quickly removed and replaced with an idea of a sort of portal(ish) feel to it. It will not have any portals in the actual game, due to copyright do plan to have different assets and create a unique feeling to it with other mechanics than what portal offers but it is along the lines of it.

My Setbacks

There were minor setback during this week because it was the beginning of production, and the week was filled with me creating ideas and then finalizing on one idea.
